You can edit a list view's configuration options from the View Properties dialog. See Editing a View for more information on these options. In addition, you can make the following changes to a lists view's appearance and layout from directly within a view:

To customize a view, it may be necessary to move columns after the view displays. Columns can be rearranged within views using the drag-and-drop method. All column position changes are saved when the user exits the view.

  1. Open a view.
  2. Click the column header of the column to be moved. This highlights the column.
  3. Position the cursor over the header of the column to be moved and drag the column to the new position. The outline of the column is shown as it is moved. The column is saved in its new location.

    Info

This is a permanent change to the view's configuration. When you change column positions within the view, the View Properties's Fields information is updated automatically.

    Note
titleNote Concerning the Default Width of Linked Fields

If you select a field that is linked to another entity (for example, through a virtual field), the default width of the field is determined by the width defined for the field in view's entity, not the entity where the linked field resides. An administrator can modify the default width of these types of fields as needed. See Defining Base Fields for information about configuring the default width for a field. (Note that if changes are made to the default width of a field at the entity level, only new view created after the modification will reflect the new width. List views created prior to the change will have to be updated manually.)
