Installing Crystal Reports to Support Scheduled Views that Generate Reports

Aptify requires that a particular version of the 32-bit SAP Crystal Reports be installed on the Application Server to support the use of scheduled views that generate reports. If the Application Server already has Crystal Reports installed, verify whether the version is correct. See Verifying the Installed Version of Crystal Reports. If Crystal Reports is not installed on the Application Server, perform the procedure to install the version included with the Aptify software. See Installing the Provided Version of Crystal Reports. To clarify further, Crystal report runtime installer (32 bit) needs to be installed. The file name is “CRRuntime_32bit_13_0_6 “. The Installer can be found in the APTIFY_60_Desktop_Update.ZIP package for Desktop updates (available in your organization's folder on the Aptify FTP site). It can also be found in in the desktop setup files where other updates related to Application Server can be found.

Verifying the Installed Version of Crystal Reports

If the Application Server already has Crystal Reports installed, verify that the correct version is installed.

1. Go to the GAC (Global Assembly Cache) at:
   
   c:\Windows\assembly
    

2. Locate the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine file.

   If there are multiple versions of these files in the Global Assembly Cache, more than one version of Crystal Reports have been installed on the server. The CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine file is selected, because this file is included with every version of Crystal Reports.

   
   
   

3. Note the Version column shown in the window, and locate the file with the highest version number for a particular assembly.

   The version listed here is the Assembly version number.

   
   
   

4. Right-click the file, select Properties, and click the Versions tab within the Properties window. The version of the software is listed.
5. If the version is 13.0.6.1027, the correct version is installed and the procedure is complete. Otherwise, perform the procedure in Installing the Provided Version of Crystal Reports.

Installing the Provided Version of Crystal Reports

These steps describe how to install the provided version of SAP Crystal Reports on an Application Server.

1. Login to the Application Server as an administrator.
2. Search the C: drive for the following file that you can download from the Aptify FTP site:
   
   APTIFY_60_Desktop_Update.zip
    
3. Extract the CRRuntime_32bit_13_0_6 file.
4. Run the CRRuntime_32bit_13_0_6 file. The installation of Crystal Reports begins.
