About the Stages Opportunity Types Form

The Opportunity Types record associates an Opportunity Type with a Stages record and assigns a type specific rank to the stage. These records are applicable when a stage's Scope is set to Type; they appear under the Stages record's Opportunity Types tab. See About the Stages Form.

Opportunity Type (Required)

Specifies the Opportunity Type to which this stage applies. This field links to the Types service. See About the Types Form for Opportunities.

Type-Specific Rank

Specifies the rank for this stage within the context of how it is used in the workflow for the specified Opportunity Type. This allows the same stage to be ranked differently for different Opportunity Types.

Note that this field is for tracking purposes only; the value specified for this field is not used to organize the available options in the Opportunities record's Stages field (for that, the Stages are sorted based on the Rank field on the top-level Stages record).
