Object types allow the grouping of data objects in easy-to-understand relationships, such as by type or similar functionality.

Attachments Tab

The Attachments tab lists all attachments relevant to the Object Types record.

General Tab

Name (Required)

This field contains the name of the object type (such as Text File, HTML File, Java Applet, and so on).

Description

This field contains the description of the object type.

AutoRegister

If this option is selected, the files may be registered in the Windows registry.

RegCmd

RegCmd contains the Windows command necessary to correctly register the file (such as Regsvr32 or Gacutil).

Default Access Method (Required)

The Default Access Method field displays the default method by which objects linked to this object type can be stored in or retrieved from the database. This field links to the Object Access Methods service.
