About the Entity Record Template User Preferences Form
This service stores a user's record template preferences and is applicable for Record Templates. It is not applicable for View Templates.
The system automatically creates records in this service as necessary based upon a user's actions within the Select A Record Template and Save Template dialogs. However, an administrator or advanced user can manually create new records in these services, if necessary.
Attachments Tab
The Attachments tab lists any files relevant to the Entity Record Template User Preferences record. The tab becomes available when the record is initially saved.
General Tab
User (Required)
The user to whom this record applies. This links to the Users service.
Show Template On New (Required)
When selected, the Select A Record Template dialog appears for new records. The dialog may appear for new records for all services or only for the services specified in the Service Details tab, depending on the Show Template Scope setting. When cleared, the Select A Record dialog is disabled.
Show Template Scope (Required)
This field is only valid when Show Template On New is selected. When set to Global, the Select a Record Template dialog appears for new records opened for all services. When set to Service, the Select a Record Template dialog appears only for the services specified in Service Details tab.
Hide Template Help (Required)
This field is reserved for future use.
Comments
Enter optional comments in this field, if desired.
Service Details Tab
This tab lists the user's record template preferences for one or more services. It is only applicable when Show Template Scope is set to Service.
An entry for a particular service corresponds to a Service Details sub-type record, which contains the following fields:
Service
The service to which these preferences apply. This links to the Entities service.
Default Template
The template to display for this service by default. This field is only applicable when the Show Template Dialog When Creating New Records? option is cleared. This field links to the Entity Record Templates service.
Show Template Dialog When Creating New Records?
When selected, the Select A Record Template dialog appears when the user opens a new record for this service. When cleared, the dialog does not appear when the user opens a new record for this service.
