Exporting Pivot Grid Data to Microsoft Excel
A user can export a pivot grid to Microsoft Excel as a read-only file for further analysis as needed. Pivot Grids export data to Excel as a flat file. That is the information not carried across as a pivot table, but data exported as static rows and columns.
Follow these steps:
- Open the pivot grid view that you want to export.
Click the EXCEL icon located in the pivot grid toolbar.Â
Pivot grid views do not support the automatically refreshment of table data supported in pivot tables.
- The pivot grid downloads to your local computer in XLSX format. Open the pivot grid in Microsoft Excel, and use Microsoft Excel's pivot grid features as necessary to further analyze the table's data.
- For example, you can generate a chart for the pivot grid by clicking the Chart Wizard icon in the toolbar (the second icon from the left).
- Note that the pivot grid is loaded as a read-only file in Microsoft Excel. If you make any changes to the table, save the table as a new file on your computer.
- Refer to the pivot grid help section in the Microsoft Excel Help documentation for more information on using pivot grids in Excel.
- Close Microsoft Excel when finished.
