Aptify includes out-of-the-box integration with the Melissa Data address verification system to identify and correct addresses entered into the system. There are two Address Verification Systems records that support Melissa Data by default, Melissa Data Webservice, and Melissa Data.
Aptify recommends using the Melissa Data Address Object API to verify address information, via the Melissa Data Webservice Address Verification Systems record.
See http://www.melissadata.com for information on Melissa Data.
The integration between Aptify and Melissa Data is described in the following sections:
Melissa Data Webservice Attribute
The Melissa Data Webservice Address Verification Systems record supports the Melissa Data Address Object API. See http://www.melissadata.com/addressobject/addressobject.htm for more information on the Melissa Data Address Object API.
The Melissa Data Address Verification Systems record includes an attribute to allow organizations to easily configure integration with the Melissa Data Address Object API for their specific system. This attribute appears on the Attributes tab of the record and should be configured by any organization that integrates with the Melissa Data Address Object API. The attribute is as follows:
- CustomerID: Specifies your organization's Customer ID received from Melissa Data to access the Address Object API. Replace the default value ([CustomerID]) with your organization's specific Customer ID.
Melissa Data Attributes
The Melissa Data Address Verification Systems record supports the PC version of Melissa Data. Note that when installing Melissa Data, an administrator has the option to install the Melissa Data files on a network server to centralize the location of the files. However, the Melissa Data Address Object software must be installed on every end user computer that will use Melissa Data to verify addresses.
When installing Melissa Data, you can specify which components you want to install. With Aptify, you only need to select the Standard Data Files component on network servers and only the Address Object component on clients.
The Melissa Data Address Verification Systems record includes two attributes to allow organizations to easily configure integration with Melissa Data for their specific system.
