When you need to authenticate against the Aptify Services API, you must set up Web User authentication.

In some distributions of Aptify Web in Aptify 5.5.2 or lesser, the spValidateWebUser Database Object is missing and must be created.

Step-by-step guide

 

  1. Open the HTML5 Web Service Application record . (The Service Application service is found in the Web Services application.)

  2. Navigate to the Service Application Authentication Providers tabTab.

  3. If Web User is not already in the list of Authentication Providers, create a new subtype record for Web Users.
  4. Choose the New button.

  5. Enter "Web User" for the Authentication Provider ID and click OK.

  6. Save the Service Application record.

  7. Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, navigate to the Aptify Services API, and choose IIS Authentication.

  8. Ensure that Anonymous Authentication is Enabled and all other methods are Disabled.

  9. Restart the site containing the Aptify Services API.
