The Commission Agreement record consists of two parts: the top level portion of the record and the detailed portion of the record. The agreement record contains the agreement information between the sales representative, or a company as a whole, and the company who pays the commissions.

  1. From the Commission Agreement tab on the Commission Plan record, open a new Commission Agreement record.
  2. Enter a Commission Plan (if not populated automatically).
  3. Select the Payee Type on the General tab:
    • Person: Specifies a person participating in the commission plan (based on the person's Persons record). The Sales Representative field appears automatically below the Commission Plan field.
    • Payroll: Specifies an employee participating in the commission plan (based on the person's Employees record). The Employee field appears automatically below the Commission Plan field.
    • Company: Specifies a company to which commission is paid. The Company field appears automatically below the Commission Plan field.

  4. Complete the field beneath the Commission Plan field in the top area of the form (depending on the Payee Type you selected):
    • If Person, enter the Sales Representative from the Persons service who is eligible for receiving commissions on his sales.
    • If Payroll, enter the Employee from the Employees service who is eligible for receiving commissions on his sales.
    • If Company, enter the Company from the Companies service who is eligible for receiving commissions on his sales.

  5. Specify the Currency Type for which this commission agreement will be based.
    • Payees can have multiple agreements tied to a particular commission plan; one for each currency type supported by the plan. However, commission payments are generated in one currency, based on the functional currency of the organization specified on the Commission Plans record. See Creating Commission Plans for  for more details.

  6. Specify the Sales Representatives goal amount in the Total Goal field.
  7. Select a Status for the commission agreement.
    • Typically, this should be Active for new records.

  8. Save the Commission Agreement record.
