The Dashboards form define a dashboard's properties such as User and Group Permissions, and Dashboard Parts/Areas.

This section describes the fields found on the Dashboards form. For information on how to create a dashboard, see the Digital Dashboards Digital Dashboards chapter in the Aptify User Guide. For information on how to administer dashboards, see Dashboards Administration for more information.

Dashboards Form

Attachments Tab

The Attachments tab lists any files relevant to the Dashboards record.

General Tab

Name

The Name field holds the name of the Dashboard.

Display Culture String

The Display Culture String field defines the culture string used to localize this Dashboards caption. See Working with Culture Strings for more details.

Description

The Description field stores the description of the Dashboard.

Application Scope

Application scope determines the location of the dashboard in Aptify. Values are:

  • Global: The Dashboard is available under the top-level Home heading.
  • Application: The dashboard is available from the application specified in the Application field.

Usage Scope

Usage scope determines the scope of the dashboard. By default, Global is selected. Values are:

  • Global: The dashboard is applicable to all users. The system uses a Global dashboard if an applicable User or Group dashboard does not exist for a particular user.
  • Group: The dashboard is applicable to users whose Primary Group is the group specified in the Dashboard form's Group field. (A user is assigned a Primary Group in the Users record.)
  • User: The dashboard is applicable only to the user designated in the User field.

Rank

The dashboards rank. If two dashboards have the same Usage Scope, the one with the lower rank takes precedence.

Application

If Application scope is set to Application, this field identifies the application from which a suer can access the dashboard.

Base Dashboard

If this dashboard is based on an existing dashboard, the dashboard designer can manually link the original dashboard here.

Note: This field does not automatically populate.

Back Color

This is the background color for the dashboard. The system converts the color selected by the user to its corresponding ARGB value.

Title Bar Text Color

This is the background color for the title bar. The system converts the color selected by the user to its corresponding ARGB value.

Comments

The comments field contains any additional details relevant to the Dashboards record.

User

The user who can access this dashboard. This field links to the Users service and is only applicable when Usage Scope = User.

Group

The group whose members can access this dashboard. This field links to the Groups service and is only applicable when Usage Scope = Group.

Border Style

The Border Style option allows the user to choose whether to place borders around the dashboard areas and, if so, what kind of borders to display (FixedSingle or Fixed3D).

This tab is reserved for future use.

User Permissions Tab

This tab is reserved for future use.
