The Dashboard Buttons form defines the dashboard button properties such as the action performed by clicking this button.
Dashboard Buttons Form
Attachments Tab
The Attachments tab lists any files relevant to the Dashboard Buttons record.
Button Properties Tab
Contains the button's input map that defines the action that occurs when a user clicks the button.
General Tab
Unique ID
A globally unique identifier (GUID) to uniquely identify the Dashboard Buttons record during a data migration process. Aptify automatically generates a value for this field and it should not be modified.
Dashboard Button Bar
Specifies the button bar on which this button appears. Links to the Dashboards Button Bars service.
Name
The Name field holds the name of the Dashboard Button.
Name Culture String
The Name Culture String field defines the culture string used to localize the name of the dashboard button. See Working with Culture Strings for details.
Description
The Description field stores the description of the dashboard button.
Desc Culture String
The Desc Culture String field defines the culture string used to localize the description of the dashboard button used in a tool tip when a user hovers the button. See Working with Culture Strings for details.
Action Type
Specifies the type of action that is triggered when this button is clicked. Options include: Open Form, Preview Report, Print Report, Run Find Dialog, Run Wizard, Run Entity Bulk Operation, and Run Process Flow. See Button Action Types in the Aptify User Guide for more information on the available button action types.
Style
This parameter determines the button's appearance and border type. The options are Follow OS, Win95, Win3x, Active Borders, and Borderless.
Position
The buttons location on the button bar.
Image Location
The Image Location field defines the location of the button's image file in the Object Repository.
Image Alignment
Image Alignment determines the position of the image on the button. The default value is MiddleLeft. The standard values are: BottomLeft, BottomRight, MiddleCenter, MiddleLeft, MiddleRight, TopCenter, TopLeft, and TopRight.
Text Alignment
Specify the location of the text on the button from the list of available options. The default value is MiddleCenter. The standard values are: BottomLeft, BottomRight, MiddleCenter, MiddleLeft, MiddleRight, TopCenter, TopLeft, and TopRight.
Back Color
This is the background color for the button. The system converts the color selected by the user to its corresponding ARGB value.
Text Color
This is the background color for the button text. The system converts the color selected by the user to its corresponding ARGB value.
Location Mode
Specifies the buttons location on the button bar:

  • Automatic — Placed automatically based on the button bars default spacing properties.
  • Fill — Specify Left and Top Pos to place button specifically in a location.

Left
The number of pixels the button is positioned from the left of the button bar. The default value is 0. Only applicable when Location Mode = Manual.
Top Pos
The number of pixels the button is positioned from the top of the button bar. The default value is 0. Only applicable when Location Mode = Manual.
Size Mode
Specifies the buttons size on the button bar:

  • Automatic — Sized automatically based on the button bars default sizing properties.
  • Fill — Specify Width and Height to size the button specifically in a location.

Width
The width of the button, specified in pixels. The default value is 33. Only applicable when Location Mode = Manual.
Height
The height of the button, specified in pixels. The default value is 33. Only applicable when Location Mode = Manual.
Font Name
The font used on all button text.
Font Size
The size of the font used on all button text.
Rounded Corners
When selected, the button has rounded corners.
Comments
Specify any comments relevant to the Dashboard Buttons record.
