If a Shipment Type uses shipment weight as a criteria for determining shipping charges, each product that may be shipped using that method should have a weight specified on its Products record. Follow these steps to specify the weight of a product in Aptify:
- Open a new or existing Products record.
- For a new product, complete all necessary fields before saving the record. See the Aptify 5.5 Product Setup and Maintenance Guide for more information on creating new products.

- Click the Inventory tab.
- On the General sub-tab, confirm that the Include in Shipping Calc. option is selected.
- Only products that have this option selected are included in shipping calculations. See Including a Product in a Shipping Calculation.

- Click the Dimensions sub-tab.
- Specify the weight of one unit of the product in the Unit Weight field.
- Select the unit of measure for the weight you entered from the Weight Units drop-down list. The available options are Ounces, Pounds, Grams, and Kilograms.
- Configure the other fields on the Dimensions sub-tab, if desired.
- In the standard Aptify system, the linear dimension fields are for informational purposes and are not used to drive other system functionality.

- Save and close the Products record.
