Pledges reflect verbal or written promises to contribute to the fundraising campaign. The standard Fundraising application supports three types of pledges: Cash, Gifts in Kind, and Volunteer Time. This topic describes how to record pledges of each type and how to specify Pledge Stages to track a pledge's progress.
It includes the following sub-topics:

  • Creating Pledge Stages: This topic describes how to create Pledge Stages for Pledges records. An organization must create pledge stages before creating Pledges records.
  • Recording Cash Pledges: This topic describes how to record cash pledges and link them to a fundraising campaign. It also describes how to change a pledge from a verbal stage to a written stage, which automatically generates a corresponding Orders record in Aptify.
  • Recording Cash Pledge Payments: This topic describes how to record payments made against cash pledges and how to record unsolicited contributions using the Contribution Payment Wizard.
  • Matching Cash Pledges: This topic describes how to create matching pledges based on an applicable Campaign Match Rule.
  • Closing Cash Pledges: This topic describes to mark a pledge as Completed, Cancelled, or Written Off.
  • Recording Gifts In Kind Pledges: This topic describes how to record a pledge for a non-cash item, such as financial securities, artwork, or used automobiles.
