Creating Subscriptions for Different Years

Aptify does not recommend creating different subscription products for the same subscription item for different years. For example, do not set up year specific subscription products like 2007 Industry Times and 2008 Industry Times; instead, create a single subscription product like Industry Times. When an order for a subscription is shipped, a corresponding Subscriptions record is created or updated to track the subscription's status and fulfillment. By using the same product from year to year the subscription renewal process can function correctly.

Subscriptions for Different Durations

Aptify does not recommend creating different subscription products for different durations of the same subscription product. For example, do not create duration-specific subscription products like 1 Year Industry Times, 2 Year Industry Times, and 3 Year Industry Times; instead, create a single subscription product like Industry Times. Subscription products in Aptify have a standard duration of one year. Therefore, when an order for a subscription is taken, the Quantity field indicates the duration of the subscription. For example, an order for 3 units of Industry Times corresponds to a 3-year subscription.
