The following steps describe the general process for working with a standing order to send new versions of a product as they become available:

  1. A customer requests that a product be sent to them automatically when a new version becomes available.
  2. An Aptify user creates a Standing Order for this request.
  3. When a new version is available, an Aptify user runs the New Product Version wizard to create a Products record for the new version of the existing product.
  4. An Aptify user runs the Standing Order Fulfillment wizard to automatically generate orders for the new version based on the qualifying standing orders in the system.

See Creating New Product Versions for information on setting up new product versions.

The following steps describe the general process for working with a standing order to automatically renew a subscription:

  1. A customer requests that a subscription or membership be automatically renewed every year at the time the order for that product is originally place.
  2. An Aptify user checks the Auto-Renew box on the subscription's Order Lines record. Then, when the order is saved and shipped, Aptify automatically creates a Standing Order. (Typically, standing orders for subscription auto-renewals are created automatically by Aptify.)
  3. An Aptify user runs the Standing Order Fulfillment wizard to automatically generate orders for the standing orders whose schedule date is today or earlier.

See the "Auto-Renewing Subscriptions" section in the Subscription/Membership Renewal chapter of the Aptify 5.5 Subscription and Dues Management for information on auto-renewing subscriptions.
