List views in Aptify are displayed in the same manner as the Aptify Desktop client.
Supported List View Features - Version 5.5.1 and Up
Below is a list of list view features supported in the Aptify Web interface:
- Creating a List View (version 5.5.1 and up): The creation of List views are supported. See the Aptify Feature Guide for more details about the list view creation functionality.
- Paging (version 5.5.1 and up): This release supports paging for list views, however the paging for Aptify is not controlled by the same settings used in the Aptify Desktop client (i.e., under View Properties > Paging tab), but rather via the value set in the items per page drop-down in Aptify. The default value is 25. You can modify this setting by selecting the items per page drop-down at the bottom of the view. You can also navigate using the arrows or clicking a particular page at the bottom of the view to move between pages.
- Note that in version 5.5.1, that if you close and re-open the view, the paging is not retained and will revert to the default (25)
- Administrators can configure the default value (10, 25, 50 or 100). See the "Configuring Aptify Web Behavior" section of the Implementation chapter of the Aptify Web Implementation Guide for more details.
- The Go To Last Page (>>|) navigation button is not supported in the Aptify web interface.
- Sorting within the View (version 5.5.1 and up): Aptify supports the ability to dynamically sort records by clicking a column heading in the list view.
- Rearranging Columns within a View (version 5.5.1 and up): This feature is not supported in the Aptify Web interface.
- Preview Pane (version 5.5.1 and up): The preview pane appears above the records within the view. You can both preview information and update records without having to open a form. In addition, you can enable and disable the Preview mode by clicking the Preview button on the view's toolbar and refreshing the view.
- View Hierarchies (version 5.5.1 and up): If a view is configured to display one or more hierarchies, an arrow appears to the left of the first column heading in the view. Clicking the arrow displays the list of hierarchies. Clicking the heading of one of the hierarchies opens the sub-view and displays the records related to the top-level record via the selected hierarchy.
- List View Captions (version 5.5.1 and up): List view captions are supported for both stand-alone views and views that are part of a dashboard.
- Prompted Views (version 5.5.1 and up): Prompted List views are accessible in the Aptify Web interface. See the Aptify Feature Guide for more information about the implementation of prompted views.
- Grouping (version 5.5.1 and up): This feature has limited support. Grouping must be configured for a view through the Aptify Desktop client.
List View Toolbar Options - Version 5.5.1 and Up
The Aptify view toolbar includes many of the same set of options available in the corresponding Aptify Desktop client toolbar. However, not all options are implemented. Features that are not supported in this release are not part of the Aptify toolbar. Below is a list of the command buttons that are implemented in this release:
- New (version 5.5.1 and up): Clicking this option opens a new record in the corresponding service.
- Open (version 5.5.1 and up): Select a row within the view and click this button to open the corresponding record.
- Save (version 5.5.2): When using the Preview Pane functionality, selecting this option saves the changes to the selected record.

Record Merge (version 5.5.1 and up): Select two records from the view and then select this option from the menu to merge the records.
Note
The Record Merge dialog does not launch from views in a dashboard or from certain views that appear on a record's tab (dynamic SQL-based views).
- Add to List (version 5.5.1 and up): Click this button to open the Aptify List Selection dialog to add the record to a new or existing list.
