List views in Aptify are displayed in the same manner as the Aptify Desktop client. Below is a list of list view features supported in this release:

  • Creating a List View: This release supports the creation of a List view from Aptify. See the Aptify Feature Guide for more details about the list view creation functionality in this version of Aptify.
  • Paging: This release supports paging for list views, however the paging for Aptify is not controlled by the same settings used in the Aptify Desktop client (i.e., under View Properties -> Paging tab), but rather via the value set in the items per page drop-down in Aptify. The default value is 25. You can modify this setting by selecting the items per page drop-down at the bottom of the view. You can also navigate using the arrows or clicking a particular page at the bottom of the view to move between pages.
    • Note that if you close and re-open the view, the paging is not retained and will revert to the default (25)
    • Administrators can configure the default value (10, 25, 50 or 100). See the "Configuring Aptify Web Behavior" section of the Implementation chapter of the Aptify Web Implementation Guide for more details.

  • Sorting within the View: Aptify supports the ability to dynamically sort records by clicking a column heading in the list view.
  • Rearranging Columns within a View: This feature is not supported in this release of Aptify.
  • Preview Pane: This feature is supported in this release of Aptify. The preview pane appears above the records within the view. You can both preview information and update records without having to open a form. In addition, you can enable and disable the Preview mode by clicking the Preview button on the view's toolbar and refreshing the view.
  • View Hierarchies: If a view is configured to display one or more hierarchies, an arrow appears to the left of the first column heading in the view. Clicking the arrow displays the list of hierarchies. Clicking the heading of one of the hierarchies opens the sub-view and displays the records related to the top-level record via the selected hierarchy.
  • List View Captions: List view captions are supported in this release for both stand-alone views and views that are part of a dashboard.
  • Prompted Views: Prompted List views are accessible in this release. See the Aptify Feature Guide for more information about the implementation of prompted views in this release of Aptify.
  • Grouping: This feature is supported.

List View Toolbar Options

The Aptify view toolbar includes many of the same set of options available in the corresponding Aptify Desktop client toolbar. However, not all options are implemented in this release. Features that are not supported in this release are not part of the Aptify toolbar. Below is a list of the command buttons that are implemented in this release:

  • New: Clicking this option opens a new record in the corresponding service.
  • Open: Select a row within the view and click this button to open the corresponding record.
  • Delete Records From a View: This is not supported in certain cases like when the record contains dependencies. In this case, a message is displayed that this feature is not currently implemented.
  • Refresh: Clicking this option refreshes the view to the most current list of records.

Note: The Auto-Refresh feature is not supported for this release.

  • Auto-Resize Columns: Clicking this option sizes the columns in the view to fit the displayed data.
  • List View More Actions : Use the More drop-down menu to locate the additional features for interacting with records in a list view including:
    • Record History: Users can view the Record History of a record, however the Restore functionality is not supported in this release.
    • Record Merge: Select two records from the view and then select this option from the menu to merge the records.
      • Note: The Record Merge dialog does not launch from views in a dashboard or from dynamic SQL-based views that may appear on a record's tab.
    • Add to List: Click this button to open the Aptify List Selection dialog to add the record to a new or existing list.
    • Excel Integration: Click this button to open a Save dialog for Excel. This will export the selected records and allow users to save the information in Excel format. Note that the .xls format is supported; however, the .xlsx Excel format is not supported in this release.
    • Reports: Crystal Reports are supported, however the List, Detail, and Export reports are not supported in this release.
