Specifying Product Category Discounts for a Campaign

Follow these steps to add one or more product category discounts to a campaign. The specified discounts are applied to all products in the specified category (and sub-categories, if applicable).

1. Open the Campaigns record, if not already opened.
2. Click Discounts tab.
3. Click Product Categories sub-tab.
4. Click New icon to open a Campaign Product Categories record.
5. Enter a category whose products you want to discount for this campaign in the Product Category field.
6. Select the type of discount in the Type field.
   
   • Discount: An amount off a product's price (on the order this will be converted to a percentage off the original price).
   • Discount %: A percentage off a product's price. Note that if using Discount %, the discount type applies to all orders placed for the campaign, independent of the order's Currency Type and the Currency Type field is disabled.
   • Amount: The specified amount replaces a product's price (on the order this will be converted to a percentage off the original price).
      
7. If you select Discount or Amount in the Type field, select the Currency Type for the discount.
   
   • The Currency Type field defaults to your organization's functional currency. You can modify the currency type as needed to base your discount in a different currency.
      
8. Depending on the type of discount selected in the previous field, enter the amount off the original price, the percentage off the original price, or the new amount for a product in this category in the appropriate field. 
9. If you want the specified discount rate to also apply to products in any sub-category of the specified category, select the Apply To Sub-Categories option.
10. Enter the type of customer who is eligible to receive the specified discounted rate in the Member Type field.
11. As of Aptify 5.5.1, you can apply a product category discount to the group of sub-members for the defined Member Type by selecting the Include Sub Member Types option. 
    
    
    
    
12. Click OK to add the record to the campaign's Discounts > Product Categories sub-tab.
13. Create additional Campaign Product Categories record, as necessary, to create a matrix of categories and member types.
    
    • Each product category may have multiple records, one per Member Type per currency type, since different member types can have different discount rates for a particular category and currency type.

    
    
    

14. Save and close the Campaigns record when finished.
