Memberships for Different Years
Aptify does not recommend creating different membership products for the same membership item for different years. For example, do not set up year-specific membership products like 2007 Membership and 2008 Membership; instead, create a single membership product for each type of membership like, Standard Membership, Silver Membership, or Gold Membership.

When an order for a membership is shipped, a corresponding Subscriptions record is created or updated to track the membership's status and fulfillment. By using the same membership product from year to year, the membership renewal process can function correctly. A member's join date relies on the renewal of the same membership product over time. If different membership products are purchased each year, the join date would continue to change.

Memberships for Different Durations
Each membership product assumes a one-year duration. In other words, an order for one unit of a membership product corresponds to a one-year membership. Membership duration is controlled by the quantity ordered. For example, an order for 3 units of a dues product corresponds to a 3-year membership.

Therefore, Aptify does not recommend creating different membership products for different durations; instead, create a single membership product like Standard Membership.
