Configuring Contact Log Attributes for Outlook Integration
An administrator can enable or disable support for Contact Log integration with Microsoft Outlook as necessary. An administrator can also determine if Contact Log follow-ups create Appointments or Tasks in Microsoft Outlook.
Aptify's integration with Microsoft Outlook requires Microsoft Office to be installed on the server hosting the Aptify Desktop client or Aptify web interface. See the systems requirements page for your release for more information about the required version of Microsoft Office.
Â
An administrator can follow these steps to modify the Contact Log's behavior with respect to Microsoft Outlook:
- Open the Contact Logs record in the Entities service.Â
- See Administering Entities for information on the Entities service.
- See Administering Entities for information on the Entities service.
- Click the Configuration > Attributes tab.
- Configure the contact log attributes, as necessary.
- DefaultMessageSystem: This attribute determines the message system that will be used to create entries. This should be set to Outlook Mail.
- AppointmentDurationInMinutes: This attribute specifies in minutes the duration of Outlook appointments created for Contact Log follow-ups.
- AddToCalendar: This attribute determines whether Outlook appointments are created when a new Contact Logs are saved with a Next Contact Date specified. When set to 1, Aptify creates appointments; when set to 0, Aptify does not create appointments.
- AddToTasks: This attribute determines whether Outlook tasks are created when a new Contact Logs are saved with a Next Contact Date specified. When set to 1, Aptify creates tasks; when set to 0, Aptify does not create tasks.Â
To disable Outlook integration for Contact Logs, set AddToCalendar and AddToTask both to 0. Note that if you set AddToCalendar and AddToTasks both to 1, Aptify creates an Outlook appointment and an Outlook task for each new Contact Log saved with a Next Contact Date specified.
Â
- Save and close the Entities record.
- Have all users close and reopen the Aptify Desktop client to ensure that the changes take effect.
