About the Tax Jurisdictions Form
A Tax Jurisdictions record identifies a taxing authority at a country, state/province, or local level. An order's particular tax amount depends upon the hierarchical structure of the customer's taxing jurisdictions and their related sales tax rates.
Attachments Tab
The Attachments tab lists any files relevant to the tax jurisdictions record.
Child Jurisdictions Tab
This tab lists the child jurisdictions for the Tax Jurisdiction record.
Comments Tab
The Comments tab lists any additional information about the tax jurisdictions record.
General Tab
Name (Required)
The name of the Tax Jurisdiction.
Parent
If the Tax Jurisdiction is a child jurisdiction indicate the parent in this field.
Applies to Ship To (Required)
Select this option if the Tax Jurisdiction applies to an order line's Ship To address.
Applies to Bill To (Required)
Select this option if the Tax Jurisdiction applies to an order's Bill To address.
Applies to Selling Location (Required)
Select this option if the Tax Jurisdiction applies tax when products are sold from a location within that jurisdiction. This location corresponds to the address for the Organization that is linked to the order.
Scope (Required)
Indicates the scope of the Tax Jurisdiction.
- Country:Â The Tax Jurisdiction is applicable to the Country specified.
- State/Province:Â The Tax Jurisdiction is applicable to the specified Country and State/Province.
- County:Â The Tax Jurisdiction is applicable to the specified Country, State/Province, and County.
- City:Â The Tax Jurisdiction is applicable to all of the above including the City.
- Postal Code:Â The Tax Jurisdiction is applicable to all of the above including the Postal Code.
Country (Required)
This field indicates the name of the Country the Tax Jurisdiction applies to. The country where the state or province is located. This field links to the Countries service. When you specify a country for an address, the states or provinces linked to that country appear in the State/Province drop-down field. Note that a user cannot enter a value within a State/Province field that does not correspond to an option in the drop-down list.
State Province Â
State Province stores the list of States and Provinces that populate the State/Province drop-down field for an address.The Tax Jurisdiction is applicable to the specified Country and State/Province.
City
This field indicates the name of the City the Tax Jurisdiction applies to.
Postal Code
This field indicates the postal code of the Tax Jurisdiction.
Rank (Required)
Specifies the rank for the Tax Jurisdiction when compared with other records in the same level of the jurisdiction hierarchy.
