Managing the Courses Service

As courses make up course categories and curriculums, classes of the same subject make up a course. This topic discusses the management of the Courses service, which is used to create courses and course parts.

Courses consist of one or more instances of the same class. The Courses service tracks:

• Which courses belong to what course category,
• The number of units the course satisfies,
• A list of all the instructors eligible to teach the course,
• A list of all the schools or locations that can host the course,
• A list of any courses that are considered a prerequisite for the current course,
• The student enrollment types,
• The product associated with the course for order entry purposes, and
• Which lessons are associated with the course.
