Adding a Dashboard Area
Dashboard areas are created from the Layout tab of the Dashboard Options form. Dashboard areas may be added to an already existing dashboard or to a new dashboard.
- Click the Layout tab on the Dashboard Options dialog.
- If modifying an existing dashboard, load the dashboard and click the Options... link to open the Dashboard Options dialog.
- You may want to maximize the Dashboard Options dialog so that it fills the entire screen.
- Click the Add Area link, located in the top-right corner of the Layout tab, to open a New Dashboard Area form.
- Enter a dashboard area name in the Name field.
- Enter a description of the dashboard area in the Description field, if desired.
- Select a Display Style, which describes how the various dashboard parts will display inside the area. There are four display style options:
- Top-Bottom:Â The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the top of the dashboard area to the bottom.
- Bottom-Top:Â The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the -bottom of the dashboard area to the top.
- Left-Right:Â The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the left of the dashboard area to the right.
- Right-Left:Â The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the right of the dashboard area to the left.
- By default, the background color for the area is light gray. To specify a different color, click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the Back Color field to open a color selection dialog. See Selecting Dashboard Colors.
 - Set the position of the area on the Position tab. The position of the area is determined by specifying parameters for the top and left position of the dashboard area. See Setting the Dashboard Area Position.
- Set the size of the area on the Size tab. The size of the area is determined by specifying parameters for the width and height of the dashboard area. See Setting the Dashboard Area Size.
- Click OK twice to save. The new area will appear on the dashboard.
