About the Object Packages Form
Packages define groups of objects with similar requirements. For example, the Startup Package contains all objects downloaded to the user's machine when the Aptify application is started.
Attachments Tab
The Attachments tab lists any attachments relevant to the Object Packages record.
General Tab
Name (Required)
The name of the package is entered into the Name field.
Description
A description of the package is entered into the Description field.
Object Context (Required)
The Object Context field links to the Object Contexts service and indicates which object context this package belongs to.
Internal Version (read-only)
The Internal Vision begins at 1 when the Object Package item is created. Each time that files within the Object Package are updated, the Internal Version is increased by one.
Download Path
The download path provides the location where objects contained in this package are downloaded on the user's computer. By default, this field is set to <ObjectContextPath>.
Any directory path can be accessed and selected via the folder icon, but a number of keyword locations are defined in the standard installation of Aptify:
- <DefaultPath>: This is the default download path for repository objects. For Aptify 5.5, this defaults to C:\Program Files\Aptify 5.5.
- <ObjectContextPath>: The path indicated in the Download Path field of the context object specified is used as the download location for all objects included in this package.
- <WindowsPath>: This indicates that files will be downloaded to the -computer's Windows directory. This option is not currently supported.
- <WindowsSystemPath>: This indicates that files will be downloaded to the computer's Windows system directory. This option is not currently supported.
- <AptifyExplorerPath>: This indicates the location where the Aptify client was installed on the computer. This option is not currently supported.
- <WindowsTempPath>: This path indicates that files will be downloaded to the computer's temp directory. This option is not currently supported.
- <UserProfilePath>: This path is the current user's profile directory. This option is not currently supported.
Always Check for Object Updates
When cleared, the information for objects in this package is retrieved only once during a user session and the information is used throughout the session. When selected, each time the Object is requested, the Object's information is retrieved from the database. This option is selected only for the Visual Floorplan object package by default (since it is possible that a Visual Floorplan will change during a user's session).
