About the Object Contexts Form

Object Contexts are logical groupings of software components. These determine the forms and functionality available to users by linking users to object contexts during user login configuration.

Attachments Tab

The Attachments tab lists all attachments relevant to the Object Contexts record.

General Tab

Name (Required)

The Name field contains the name of the object context.

Description

The Description field contains the description of the object context.

Default Context

If this option is selected, the Object Context is set to the default context.

Parent Context

If this object context is based on another object context, that object context is listed as the parent context. If an object does not exist underneath the current context, the system will search under the parent context for the object instead.

Download Path

The download path provides the location where objects contained in packages in this object context are downloaded on the user's computer. By default, this field is set to <DefaultPath>.
Any directory path can be accessed and selected via the folder icon, but a number of keyword locations are defined in the standard installation of Aptify:

  • <DefaultPath>: This is the default download path for repository objects. For Aptify 5.5, this defaults to C:\Program Files\Aptify 5.5.
  • <WindowsPath>: This indicates that files will be downloaded to the -computer's Windows directory. This option is not currently supported.
  • <WindowsSystemPath>: This indicates that files will be downloaded to the computer's Windows system directory. This option is not currently supported.
  • <AptifyExplorerPath>: This indicates the location where the Aptify client was installed on the computer. This option is not currently supported.
  • <WindowsTempPath>: This path indicates that files will be downloaded to the computer's temp directory. This option is not currently supported.
  • <UserProfilePath>: This path is the current user's profile directory. This option is not currently supported.

Default Package (Required)

The Default Package field lists the default package ID for the object context.

Startup Package (Required)

The startup package is the package used when the application is started.
