Managing Shipping Charges

Aptify's Order Entry system includes a shipping infrastructure that can automatically calculate the shipping and handling charge for a particular order. The standard shipping functionality calculates charges based on an order's (or order line's) Ship To address, weight, and quantity. The system can also evaluate sets of products on an order independently as product groupings, which provides greater flexibility when determining the rules for shipping calculations.

Finally, if an organization's shipping calculations require additional criteria beyond the scope of the standard shipping infrastructure, a developer can write one or more shipment type plug-ins to implement organization-specific functionality.
