If your source and destination server are both running Aptify 5.5.5 and higher, the Aptify Configuration Migration (CM) Tool is already installed and can be launched directly from the Aptify desktop interface, you do not need to install CM Tool. However, if either is running a lower version of Aptify, you will need to install the CM Tool on the server.

This release of the CM Tool supports environments running Aptify 5.5.1 and higher. Aptify recommends packing and unpacking on servers running the same version of Aptify as this is the most successful path.

You can pack and unpack on different versions of Aptify. Aptify has run numerous testing scenarios and has several validation rules in place to help prevent failures in these cases. For example, in newer versions of Aptify there are certain cases where a newly required field is introduced, where an older version did not include such fields. However, as each organization's environment is unique, not ever case could be tested so there may still be cases that fail.  Aptify recommends that you install the latest updates to the Windows server where you will be installing the Aptify CM Tool.

For system running Aptify 5.5.1 or Aptify 5.5.4, the following hotfixes should be applied:

• For Aptify 5.5.1: An error may occur and the pack may fail to unpack successfully when unpacking sub-types entities on an environment running Aptify 5.5.1. APTIFY_551_HOTFIX_22233 is included in the CMTool distribution file and should be applied to both source and destination servers running Aptify 5.5.1.
   
• For Aptify 5.5.4: Process flows may not include all appropriate data (for example, Process Flow Actions, etc.) when unpacking on an environment running Aptify 5.5.4. APTIFY_554_HOTFIX_23421 is included in the CM Tool distribution file and should be applied to both source and destination servers running Aptify 5.5.4.
