About the Contents of the Batched Export File
Below is a view in Microsoft Excel of the contents of a sample general ledger batch file in the Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) format. The first line is the header information for the data contained within the file. All subsequent lines are the general ledger entries being imported into the general ledger (GL) accounting system.
 Â
By default, the GL Batch Export process generates a file that corresponds to the Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains format). In addition to support for Microsoft Dynamics GP, the Aptify GL Batch Export driver can export GL batch data for these other accounting packages:
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision)
- Microsoft Dynamics SL (formerly Solomon)
- Ross Financials
Since systems may vary, Aptify strongly recommends that you test a particular Batch Export driver first before deploying it on a production system to confirm compatibility between your accounting package and the provided Aptify driver. Contact your Aptify consultant for additional assistance.

Note that in order to use one of these other packages, your administrator needs to update the Batches entity's GLExportDriver plug-in to reference the desired drivers. This plug-in is configured to use the Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) plug-in by default, as shown in the figure below.
All four drivers provided by Aptify are in the same GLExportDrivers assembly; an administrator only needs to update the Class Name to switch to a different driver. The class names for the support drivers can be identified on the GLExportDrivers Object Repository Objects record's Classes tab, as shown in the figure below. From top to bottom, the displayed class names correspond to the following accounting packages:
Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains) - this is the default.
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision)
- Ross Financials
- Microsoft Dynamics SL (formerly Solomon)
