The Dashboard Area Form displays the fields that control the placement of the individual Digital Dashboard areas on the dashboard.

General Tab

Name (required)

The Name field contains the name of the dashboard area.

Description

The Description field stores the description of the dashboard area.

Display Style (required)

Display Style specifies the orientation of the dashboard part title bars within the dashboard area. The content of the actual component is not affected by this setting. The standard options are:

• Top-Bottom: Selected by default. The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the top of the dashboard area to the bottom.
• Bottom-Top: The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the bottom of the dashboard area to the top.
• Left-Right: The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the left of the dashboard area to the right.
• Right-Left: The dashboard parts on this dashboard area display from the right of the dashboard area to the left.

Back Color (required)

Back Color specifies the background color for the dashboard area. The default background color is gray.

Position Tab

Options on the Position tab control the location of the area on the dashboard.

Left Side Position Section

Anchored to another area

This option indicates that the left side of the dashboard area is anchored to another dashboard area. When this option is selected, a selection box displays and lists the currently available areas.

Absolute Position (specify left coordinate)

This option indicates the specific position of the left side of the dashboard area. When this option is selected, a field is displayed to enter the left coordinate as a number of pixels.

Relative Position

Relative position indicates that the left side of the area is positioned relative to other areas on the dashboard. This option is not supported in this release.

Top Side Position Section

Anchored to another area

This option indicates that the top side of the dashboard area is anchored to another dashboard area. When this option is selected, a selection box displays and lists the currently available areas.

Absolute Position (specify top coordinate)

This option indicates the specific position of the top side of the dashboard area. When this option is selected, a field is displayed to enter the top coordinate as a number of pixels.

Relative Position

Relative position indicates that the top of the area is positioned relative to the other areas of the dashboard. This option is not currently supported.

Size Tab

Options on the Size tab specify the size of the dashboard area by setting width and height.

Width Section

These options control the width of the dashboard area.

Fixed Width

The Fixed Width option indicates that the dashboard area has a set width. When this option is selected, a field is displayed where the width, in pixels, is stored. This field is selected by default, and the default width is 400.

Proportional Growth

The Proportional Growth option indicates that the dashboard area width may expand, but only to a certain amount. When this option is selected, a field displays where the proportion of growth is stored as a decimal between 0 and 1. The default value of this field is 0.

Fill Container

The Fill Container option indicates that the dashboard area should fill the entire space of the dashboard.

Height Section

These options control the height of the dashboard area.

Fixed Height

The Fixed Height option indicates that the dashboard area has a set height. When this option is selected, a field is displayed where the height, in pixels, is stored. This field is selected by default, and the default width is 600.

Proportional Growth

The Proportional Growth option indicates that the dashboard area height may expand, but only to a certain amount. When this option is selected, a field displays where the proportion of growth is stored.

Fill Container

The Fill Container option indicates that the dashboard area should fill the entire space of the dashboard.
