Creating the Prepaid Deposit Product

Follow these steps to add a Products record for a Prepaid deposit:

1. Open a new record from the Products service.
   • This service is located in the Product Setup and Maintenance application by default.
      
2. In the Name field, enter a name for the prepaid deposit product.
3. Select a product category for the prepaid deposit product.
   
   • If an appropriate category does not exist in the database, create one. See Creating a Product Category for the Prepaid Deposit Product for details.
      
4. Select the General product type for the prepaid deposit product in the Type field, if not already selected.
   
5. Click the Accounting > GL Accounts tab and verify that the only GL Accounts records displaying are the prepaid deposit GL account and the sales account, inherited from the product category selected.
6. Click the Prices > Settings tab.
   
    
7. Select the Allow Free option.
8. Remove the check marks from the Allow Price Override and Allow Price Selection boxes.  
9. Save and close the prepaid deposit Products record.
