About the Merchant Account Attributes Form

The Attributes tab on a Merchant Accounts record stores the set of values that Aptify needs to communicate with the third-party merchant. For example, if Aptify needs to provide login information to connect to the merchant account's system, this information is specified as attributes on the appropriate Merchant Accounts record.

By default, a Merchant Accounts record has no attributes specified so a user needs to create one or more Attributes sub-type records as needed so Aptify can successfully connect to the merchant account's system. See Creating and Configuring Merchant Accounts for information on the typical attributes that must be configured to enable PayPal support in Aptify.

Attribute (Required)

The merchant account attribute. The default values, described above, are defined in the MerchantAccountAttributes entity.

When you add a new Attributes sub-type record, you can provide a value for the following attributes by default:

• GatewayLocation: The URL of the merchant account's gateway to which Aptify will connect.
• GatewayPort: The TCP/UDP port number on which Aptify will send traffic to the gateway. Typically, this is port 443 for secure HTTPS Internet traffic.
• MerchantID: Identification assigned by the merchant account. Contact a merchant account representative to determine if this attribute is necessary and its expected value.
• PartnerID: Identification assigned by the merchant account. Contact a merchant account representative to determine if this attribute is necessary and its expected value. For PayPal, this identifies the authorized PayPal agent responsible for your account.
• Username: User name assigned to the organization to successfully log in to the merchant account's system.
• Password: The password for the specified user name assigned to the organization.
• ProxyLocation: If the organization uses a proxy server between the Aptify server and the Internet, use this attribute to specify the server name or IP address of the proxy server.
• ProxyPort: If the organization uses a proxy server between the Aptify server and the Internet, use this attribute to specify the port on which traffic is exchanged between the Aptify server and the proxy server.
• ProxyUsername: If the organization uses a proxy server between the Aptify server and the Internet, specify a username, if required, for the Aptify server to access the Internet.
• ProxyPassword: If the organization uses a proxy server between the Aptify server and the Internet, specify a password for the username, if required, for the Aptify server to access the Internet.
• Timeout: Specifies the timeout interval (in seconds) for a transaction with the merchant account. For PayPal, the recommended timeout period is 30 seconds.
